Hi,

i have just passed my AZ 305 exam.

However, the badge is not appearing. I have just realized that my AZ 104 has expired which is a prerequisite. Do I need to retake the AZ 104?

I would appreciate it if the certificate/badge can be issued because I really need to present it to the management that I have achieved the certification level.

Yes, you do need to renew the AZ104. If it's expired, you do have to retake the exam rather than the free online renewal (which will then grant you the AZ104 and the expert level AZ305).

Hii junaid congratulations to passing AZ 305 !

For AZ- 305 you need to have an active associate level certificate as a prerequisite currently AZ- 104 is required

If your AZ - 104 is expired , the expert badge will not appear until you renew AZ- 104 . You don't need to retake to full exam if renewal is available you can renew AZ- 104 for free on Microsoft learn with in 6 months of expiry by passing the renewal assisment , once AZ- 104 active again , your AZ- 305 expert certificate and badge should appear automatic with in 24 - 48 hours . If it still doesn't appear , pls contact Microsoft certification support via learn.

@Suman Kumari Incorrect, you cannot renew after a certification has retired, only before the expiry date.

The renewal period is open for 180 days before your expiry date. The renewal window cannot be extended or reopened. There are no exceptions.

My certification expired. What happens now? If your certification expires, you must earn the certification again by passing the required exam(s).

You need to retake the AZ-104 exam for it to qualify towards the Azure Solution Architect Expert certification
