For this scenario, the supported path is:
- Verify Windows 11 is current.
- In the taskbar search box, type winver and confirm the device is running Windows 11.
- Run the activation troubleshooter again from the activation page.
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Activation.
- Select Troubleshoot.
- This requires an internet connection, and the Troubleshoot option is available only while Windows is not activated.
- Because the issue started immediately after a BIOS update, treat it as a significant hardware-change activation issue.
- Error 0xC004F211 means Windows reported that the hardware of the device changed.
- A digital license is associated with device hardware, and Windows may no longer find the matching license after that change.
- Use the hardware-change reactivation path.
- In Start > Settings > System > Activation, select Troubleshoot.
- If the troubleshooter cannot fix it, use the link to reactivate after a hardware change when it appears.
- This path requires being signed in with the same Microsoft account that was linked before the change.
- If activation still fails with 0x803F7001, Windows is not finding a valid license on the device.
- On Start > Settings > System > Activation, either:
- select Change product key and enter a valid 25-character product key, or
- select Go to Microsoft Store to buy a digital license.
- On Start > Settings > System > Activation, either:
- If the troubleshooter and hardware-change path both fail, contact Microsoft support.
- The documented guidance is to contact support when the Activation troubleshooter cannot fix the issue or when additional help is needed reactivating Windows after a significant hardware change.
The generic Pro key ending 3V66T does not by itself reactivate a digital license. The supported recovery path is the Activation troubleshooter and the reactivation flow for hardware change; if that does not restore activation, support intervention is required.
