If Microsoft Authenticator or Microsoft two-step verification was used and there is no access to the account password, the recovery path depends on whether any other verification method is still available.

    • If another sign-in or verification method was already set up, use Sign in another way on the two-step verification page and complete sign-in with that alternate method.
    • If the password is known but access to all security info is lost, start sign-in and at Verify your identity select I don't have any of these, then follow the prompts to replace the security info. After replacement, there is a 30-day wait before sign-in is allowed.
    • If the password is not known and there is no access to any security info, use the account recovery form. Before submitting it, try the Sign-in Helper tool first.

    Important limits from Microsoft support:

    • If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, Microsoft support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.
    • If a phone used for verification was lost or stolen for a work or school account, the organization’s Help desk can clear the settings.

For the Roblox account itself, recovery must be handled through Roblox account recovery. The Microsoft side only covers recovery of the Microsoft account or Microsoft Authenticator access.
