    Hello,

Welcome to the Microsoft Windows Community.

Good afternoon. To provide a more accurate solution, please share a screenshot of your system information; simply press Win + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter. Then, do the following:

    1. After logging in, press Win + I -> Accounts -> Sign-in options.

    2. Click on PIN -> then click Remove and restart your computer.

    3. You will need to enter your password to log in; then, return to the Accounts panel -> PIN -> Create PIN.

    This should work.

This usually points to a corrupted Windows Hello PIN setup.

    Try this in order:

    1. Use the password instead of the PIN once
      • On the sign-in screen, select Sign-in options.
      • Select Enter your password.
      • If I forgot my PIN is available, that can also be used to reset it.
    2. After signing in, reset the PIN from Settings
      • Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
      • Select PIN (Windows Hello).
      • Choose Change PIN if the current PIN still works, or I forgot my PIN if it does not.
      • Follow the prompts to create a new PIN.
    3. If Windows keeps asking to create the PIN again
      • Sign out, then sign back in.
      • Try creating the PIN again.
      • Check for Windows updates, because repeated PIN prompts can happen after security updates or system changes.
    4. Restart the PC
      • A restart can clear temporary sign-in issues.
      • If updates are waiting, use Update and restart.

    Important:

    • The device PIN is different from the Microsoft account password.
    • I forgot my PIN on the sign-in screen is available only for Microsoft accounts, not local accounts.
    • If the password is also forgotten, reset the password first, then reset the PIN.

If the PIN reset still fails repeatedly, use the Microsoft sign-in helper or Contact Support from the support article.
