I need Microsoft company portal for school and for work. I tried to add my school account and now every time I open the app it just says "error account is set up under work email tried to login under school email" and won't let me back out or do anything

    Try these steps in order:

    1. In Windows, open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    2. Check whether the school account is already listed.
      • If it is listed, select it and Disconnect it.
      • Then select Connect and add the correct work or school account again.
    3. If the account is not listed, select Connect and sign in with the correct work or school account.
    4. After reconnecting, restart the device and open Company Portal again.
    5. Make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi before trying to access work or school resources.

If the account appears in Access work or school but access still fails, the device and account are already connected and the remaining issue is likely controlled by the organization. In that case, contact the organization’s IT support. Helpdesk details may be available in the Company Portal app or website.

If sign-in keeps failing because the password or verification step is wrong:

    • Use the organization’s password reset option if self-service password reset is enabled: Reset password
    • If multiple sign-in attempts were made, Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication can temporarily block more attempts. Wait and try again later, or use a different MFA method if available.
