    Hi,

What changes did you make to your computer or subscription before the issue started?

Instead of Quick Repair, I suggest trying an Online Repair to thoroughly repair any issues with the Office installation:

In the search bar, type Control Panel > Programs and Features > find Microsoft 365/Office > right-click it > select Change > then run Online Repair.

If the issue persists, you can use the Office Uninstall Support Tool (Uninstall Troubleshooter) to completely remove Microsoft Office from your device and then reinstall it:

    https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC

Once you open the link, click Get Help. When the tool launches, select Yes, then click Next. Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365 and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

    To reinstall Office:

    Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your Office license.

Locate Microsoft Office and click Install.

Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once installed, open an Office app such as Word or Excel and sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your purchase to activate Office.

If Excel says a workbook is corrupted or needs repair, use Open and Repair for each affected file:

    1. Open Excel.
    2. Select File > Open.
    3. Go to the folder that contains the workbook.
    4. In the Open dialog, select the damaged workbook.
    5. Select the arrow next to Open.
    6. Choose Open and Repair.
    7. Select:
      • Repair to recover as much of the workbook as possible.
      • Extract Data if Repair does not work, to recover values and formulas.

If Excel cannot open the file because of a disk or network error, move the workbook to a local drive first and then try Open and Repair again.

If Excel itself is also behaving incorrectly across many files, repair the Office installation:

    1. Close all Office apps.
    2. In Windows, open Settings.
    3. Go to Apps > Installed apps.
    4. Find Microsoft 365 or Office.
    5. Select Modify.
    6. Choose:
      • Quick Repair first.
      • Online Repair if the problem continues. This is more thorough.
    7. Complete the repair and restart the computer if prompted.

To help prevent future workbook corruption:

    • Turn on Always create backup: File > Save As > Browse > arrow next to Tools > General Options > Always create backup.
    • Turn on AutoRecover: File > Options > Save > check Save AutoRecover information every and confirm Disable AutoRecover for this workbook only is not selected.
