Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Hi Jeffery,
If you're using the Teams desktop app, there is normally no need to manually download updates, as Teams updates itself automatically when an update becomes available and the app is idle.
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Select the update button next to your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Choose Update and restart Teams if an update is already available.
- Allow Teams to download and install the update.
If Teams is unable to update, your IT administrator may need to verify that:
- Teams is installed in a supported location.
- Users have permission to update the application.
- No policies or device management settings are preventing updates.
For the Teams web app, no download is required because it is always running the latest version.
For more information, see Update Microsoft Teams
If this doesn't align with your situation, please provide me a few more details
- Are you trying to update the Teams desktop app, Teams Rooms device, or the Teams app on a mobile device?
- What operating system are you using (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, etc.)?
- Are you receiving any error messages when attempting to update Teams?
- Is this affecting a single device or multiple users/devices in your organization?
To ensure I provide the most accurate assistance, I would appreciate any additional information you can share regarding your current situation. If possible, please include screenshots, as they can be very helpful in the investigation.
