    Use this Outlook.com recovery path:

    1. Check whether storage is full. If the Outlook.com mailbox or Microsoft cloud storage is full, email cannot be sent or received. Messages sent while storage was full are bounced back to the sender and are unrecoverable.
    2. Check for mailbox settings that attackers commonly change. In Outlook.com, review:
      • Mail > Rules and delete any rule that is not recognized
      • Forwarding and make sure it is not enabled unexpectedly
      • IMAP/POP settings and disable them if they are active and causing issues Also check Junk Email settings and the Junk Email folder, and mark valid messages as not junk.
    3. Check message visibility issues.
      • Look in the Other tab
      • Check whether messages are sorted incorrectly, then set Filter > Sort > Date
      • Confirm there are no rules hiding or moving mail
    4. Complete account security cleanup. If the account was hacked or blocked because of unusual sign-in activity:
      • Run the Microsoft sign-in helper
      • If needed, unblock the Outlook.com account
      • Review connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies
      • Remove any aliases, devices, or app passwords that are not recognized
      • Turn on two-step verification
      • Use Sign out everywhere; this can take up to 24 hours to take effect
    5. Scan the PC for malware before changing the password again. Run a full antivirus scan first, then change or reset the password. This helps prevent the attacker from immediately regaining access.
    6. If a specific sender cannot reach the mailbox, ask that sender to review Sender Support in Outlook.com.
    7. If mail still does not arrive after these checks, use Outlook.com support from Help in Outlook.com or the Outlook.com support contact options.
