Ensure you have camera driver properly installed and listed and is working under the Device Manager.

Usually this error record may appear if the camera driver is entirely missing.

You can install it back from your device manufacturer's website and that should resolve the issue.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

    1. What is the make and model of your device?

Press Windows + R, then type MSINFO32 and hit ok.

Take a screenshot of that window and attach it to your next reply.

    2. Press Windows + X and choose Device Manager.

Click View > Show Hidden devices

    Expand Camera Section.

Take a screenshot and share it here.

In the meantime, try the following steps below and check:

Method 1: Locate a button on your keyboard featuring a camera symbol, typically on the F1-F12 keys.

    Similar to this:

Press that key or Fn + the camera logo key to enable the camera and then you can use it again.

Method 2: Please check the camera lens carefully to see if there’s a cover, such as a camera shutter. Slide it to uncover the webcam.

Method 3: Press the Windows key + X, and choose Device Manager.

    Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices

Right-click your camera, and select Uninstall Device.

Ensure to tick "Delete driver software for this device" when prompted.

    Restart your PC

Check if the issue is resolved.

For error 0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>, Windows is not detecting a camera device. Use this order:

    1. Check for a physical camera switch, shutter, or keyboard key
      • Many laptops have a camera privacy switch, a shutter slider near the webcam, or a keyboard key with a camera icon.
      • If it is off, Windows can behave as if no camera is installed.
    2. If using an external camera, reconnect it
      • Unplug and reconnect it securely.
      • Try a different USB port.
      • Test the camera on another device to rule out hardware failure.
    3. Test in the Windows Camera app
      • Open Start > Camera.
      • If it works there but not in another app, the problem is with that app’s settings.
    4. Check Windows Update
      • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • If no main updates appear, go to Advanced options > Optional updates and look for camera driver updates.
      • Install updates and restart the PC.
    5. Run the camera troubleshooter
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      • Find Camera and select Run.
    6. Check Device Manager
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Look under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Sound, video and game controllers.
      • If the camera is missing, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
      • If it appears, try Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
    7. Reinstall the camera driver
      • In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Uninstall device.
      • If available, select the option to remove/delete the driver software.
      • Restart the PC.
      • After restart, return to Device Manager, right-click the camera, and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
    8. If the issue started after an update, roll back the driver
      • In Device Manager, right-click the camera > Properties > Driver tab.
      • Select Roll Back Driver if available, then restart.
    9. Check antivirus or firewall software
      • Some antivirus tools can block camera access.
      • Temporarily disable that protection and test the camera.

If the camera still does not appear anywhere in Device Manager after scanning for hardware changes, the issue is likely at the hardware detection level rather than only the Camera app.
