To find the port for an engraver in Windows 11, check Device Manager first.
- Connect the engraver directly to the PC.
- Open Device Manager.
- Look for Ports (COM & LPT).
- If the engraver driver is detected, it should appear there as a COM port.
If Ports (COM & LPT) is missing, try this:
- In Device Manager, select Action > Add legacy hardware.
- Choose Install the hardware that I manually select.
- Select Ports (COM & LPT).
- Finish the wizard and restart.
For USB ports, a USB 3.0 port is typically blue or marked with the SuperSpeed USB logo. In Device Manager, if there is an eXtensible Host Controller, that indicates USB 3.0 support.
If the engraver still does not appear under Ports (COM & LPT) after connecting it, the driver may not be enumerating correctly.
