Welcome Roger Dogger,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you are having trouble connecting your iPad to your Windows 11 home computer.
To narrow this down a bit:
- What are you trying to do between the iPad and PC (transfer files, access the PC remotely, sync photos, or something else)?
- Are both devices connected to the same home Wi‑Fi network?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
Step 1: Confirm both devices are connected to the same network.
- On the iPad, open Settings > Wi‑Fi and verify the connected network.
- On the PC, open Settings > Network & Internet > Wi‑Fi and verify the network name matches.
Step 2: Make sure Network Discovery is enabled on Windows.
- Open Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center.
- Select Change advanced sharing settings.
- Turn on Network discovery and File and printer sharing.
Step 3: Check that the PC is set to a Private network.
- Open Settings > Network & Internet.
- Select your network connection.
- Verify the network profile is set to Private.
Step 4: If you are trying to transfer files, let us know which method you are using.
- File Explorer network sharing
- OneDrive
- iTunes/Apple Devices app
- Remote Desktop
- Another app or service
Looking forward to your update.
