How to disable the icon in the systray while the microphone is in use? I have software that handles the microphone differently than Windows causing Windows to always display the icon making it completely useless. Without a way to exclude apps it's just noise and doesn't add any additional privacy or security. Clicking it just opens another useless setting window in this scenario.
There is no native setting, method or registry edit that will stop the microphone icon appearing in the System tray, that is a security feature Microsoft have assed to Windows to alert the user that the microphone is being used, they also have added an icon for Location that will appear if an app or webpage is accessing your location.
