My laptop's built-in camera produces blurry, out-of-focus pictures and videos. The image looks soft and lacks detail, even in a well-lit room. I've attached a screenshot showing the problem.

System information

  • Operating system: Windows 11 Home (version: 26H2)
  • Device make: Lenovo
  • Camera: Built-in

    Thank you for that information.

In that case, the best option would be to go to the support page for your laptop on the Lenovo website to download and reinstall (not update) the version of Graphics drivers and Webcam drivers they provide for your laptop model.

If you have any difficulty locating that support page, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

Integrated laptop webcams are very basic and do not have many settings available.

    1

You indicate the room is well lit, ensure the light is in front of you, not behind or above you.

    2

    Then open the Settings app.

Go to Bluetooth and Devices - Cameras - Integrated Camera.

In there, there are sliders to adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness and Saturation on your webcam, try using those sliders to improve the image produced by your webcam.
