Microsoft can show Get genuine Office and require removal of the installed copy when it determines the Office or Microsoft 365 product on the device is not legitimate. In that case, the supported resolution is to uninstall the counterfeit version completely and then reinstall a genuine copy. [---]

Hi, @James Bunn

To help narrow down the issue:

In https://account.microsoft.com/services which Office version did you purchase, for example Office Home & Student 2021, Office 2024, or Microsoft 365?

Where did you purchase it?

Is Office completely missing from "Installed apps", or does it open with an activation/licensing message?

Any additional info about the issue you can provide will be helpful in diagnosing and resolving the issue.

Thanks!
