I have been locked out of one of my Outlook account because of trying multiple tries using you click links. I just want my password changed so I can add the account to my new device.

If the Outlook.com account is locked, unlock it first by signing in at https://account.microsoft.com to request a security code. Any phone number that can receive text messages can be used; it does not need to already be associated with the account.

If the account was blocked after too many incorrect sign-in attempts, stop trying to sign in for 24 hours. Repeated attempts can keep the lock in place.

If the site still does not let the account be unblocked:

    1. Use the Sign-in Helper: https://aka.ms/sign-in-helper
    2. If the password is no longer working, use Recover your account at https://account.live.com/password/reset
    3. If the account remains inaccessible and normal verification methods fail, use the account recovery form at https://account.live.com/acsr and provide as much accurate account information as possible.

After access is restored, change the password at https://account.microsoft.com. If already signed in, go to Security and select Change Password. Then sign in again on the new device with the updated password.

If Outlook on the new device still rejects the new password after it was changed on the website, remove and re-enter the password in Outlook when prompted to sign in.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

It typically happens when the account flags suspicious behavior due to multiple login attempts. To sort out the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Go to this link: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2153610

Then follow the prompts to recover.

    For reference:

Method 2. I recommend submitting a recovery form:

    https://account.live.com/acsr

Please complete the form and expect a reply within a couple of days.

HI, thank you for replying. The Microsoft account recovery form is one of the last and most effective options for recovering your account when other verification methods are unavailable. To help prove that you are the owner of the account, I recommend that you resubmit the form and provide as accurate and detailed information as possible. The more accurate information you provide, the higher the chances of your request being successfully verified.

However, if the issue persists, you can reach out to Microsoft Accounts and Billing support by following these steps:

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

Type your problem in the search bar and press Enter.

Scroll down to the bottom and select the blue "Contact Support" button.
