If Alexa does not appear in Microsoft Store search on the laptop, these are the supported reasons to check:
- Reset the Microsoft Store cache.
- Press Windows key + R
- Type wsreset.exe
- Select OK
- Wait for the blank Command Prompt window to close and for Microsoft Store to reopen automatically
- Search for Alexa again
- Restart the PC if Windows was recently updated.
- Microsoft Store app installs can be blocked until the device is restarted after updates.
- Check whether the app is available for the current country or region.
- Some apps are not offered in every region.
- Check whether family settings are hiding apps.
- If family restrictions are enabled, some apps may not appear.
- Check device compatibility.
- Microsoft Store can hide apps that are not compatible with the device.
- Make sure the PC is signed in and authorized for Microsoft Store apps.
- Sign in to Microsoft Store with the Microsoft account used for downloads.
If Microsoft Store itself is not opening correctly, also try:
- Search from Start for Microsoft Store and open it from there.
- Make sure Windows has the latest updates.
- Check time and location settings.
If the app still does not appear after these checks, the app may no longer be available in Microsoft Store for the device or region.
