Hi Laura Phelan,
It sounds like the phone connection may have made a large number of files available on your laptop, which can quickly reduce available storage on a new device.
As an alternative check, you can use Storage settings to identify exactly where the space is being used:
- Open Settings > System > Storage.
- Review the categories using the most space, especially Pictures, Documents, or Other.
- If you find a large folder related to your phone content, you can remove those local copies after confirming they are not files you need on the PC.
If you no longer plan to use phone integration, you can also disconnect the device from Phone Link (further steps in AI answer) and monitor your available storage afterward to confirm the space usage does not return.
I hope this helps point you to the files consuming the storage. If you're unsure which folder has grown significantly, feel free to share a screenshot of the Storage breakdown (without personal information), and the community can help identify what is safe to remove.
