Create fClientDisableUDP on the client device, under this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\Client
If the Client subkey doesn't exist, create it first under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services
Then create:
- Name:
fClientDisableUDP - Type:
DWORD (32-bit) - Value:
1
This setting corresponds to the Turn Off UDP On Client policy. When enabled, RDP uses only TCP on the client side.
Warning: editing the registry incorrectly can cause system problems. Prefer using gpedit.msc when available: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Connection Client > Turn Off UDP On Client = Enabled
