    Hi @Anaya Anwaar

Based on my experience, clicking Repair Now from this prompt does not always resolve the issue.

Could you please try performing an Online Repair for Microsoft 365/Office instead? You can refer to step 3 of the AI answer or follow the steps in this article: Repair an Office application | Microsoft Support (make sure you choose Online Repair)

Once finished, please restart the device and let me know whether Word opens normally.

    Use this order:

    1. Update Office and Windows first
      • Install the latest Windows updates.
      • If any Office app opens, go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
      • Restart the PC after updates.
    2. Start Word in Safe Mode to check add-ins
      • Press Windows + R.
      • Type winword /safe and press Enter.
      • Confirm the title bar shows Word (Safe Mode).
      • If Word opens in Safe Mode:
        • Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
        • In Manage, select the add-in type and click Go.
        • Clear one add-in at a time, click OK, then restart Word normally.
        • Older add-ins such as Abbyy FineReader, PowerWord, and Dragon Naturally Speaking are known to cause problems.
      • If Word does not open in Safe Mode, the issue is likely not an add-in.
    3. Run an Office repair
      • In Windows 11: Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • In Windows 10: right-click Start > Apps and Features.
      • Select Microsoft 365 or Office > Modify.
      • Choose Online Repair and then Repair.
      • This is more thorough than Quick Repair.
      • Restart the PC when finished.
    4. If Word still fails, update device drivers
      • Install the latest drivers for the PC, especially video card, printer, mouse, and keyboard drivers.
    5. Advanced Word-only reset
      • Warning: editing the registry can cause serious problems if done incorrectly, and Word settings may be reset.
      • Close all Office apps.
      • Open regedit.
      • Back up and then delete this key:
        • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Word\Data
      • Start Word again.
      • If that does not help, back up and then delete:
        • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Word\Options

If the error appears only when opening one specific file, try:

    • File > Open > Browse
    • Select the file
    • Click the arrow next to Open
    • Choose Open and Repair
