Check whether TPM is present and enabled first:
- In Windows, open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Device Security.
- If Security processor appears, open Security processor details and check Specification version.
- If it shows 2.0, TPM 2.0 is available.
- If there is no Security processor section, TPM may be disabled.
- Or press Windows key + R, type tpm.msc, and press Enter.
- If it says Compatible TPM cannot be found, TPM may be disabled in UEFI/BIOS.
- If TPM is found, check Specification Version.
- To enable TPM, go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Restart now. Then open: Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart
- In UEFI/BIOS, look under menus such as Advanced, Security, or Trusted Computing.
The TPM setting may be named:
- Security Device
- Security Device Support
- TPM State
- AMD fTPM switch
- AMD PSP fTPM
- Intel PTT
- Intel Platform Trust Technology
- If TPM still does not appear:
- Check whether a BIOS/firmware update is available from the motherboard or PC manufacturer.
- If Windows shows TPM error messages in Windows Security > Device Security > Security processor troubleshooting, follow that guidance.
- If the motherboard does not support TPM 2.0, it may not be available to enable.
The printer issue is separate from TPM.
