Email delay holds epic account hostage

I get email notification but it takes a long long time. When I get my code the session has timed out on my browser to actually use the code.

This isn't an issue with GMAIL, I get my codes right away with my other epic account. This is something definitely on Microsoft side. I have tried the gmail account consistently getting the verification codes right away. - from another user but still having the same problem

Is there anything to access my epic account

    Hi Titus,

I understand the frustration when a verification code arrives too late to be used, especially when it prevents access to an account. As an alternative to the steps already suggested by AI answer, you may want to try the following:

    1. Sign in to your Epic account from a private/incognito browser window and request a new verification code.
    2. If you have access to another email address on your Epic account, check whether you can update the account's contact email after signing in through an alternate recovery method.
    3. Contact Epic Games Support and explain that the verification emails are arriving after the code validity period. They may be able to advise on alternative account verification options available for your Epic account.

If the issue continues specifically with verification emails sent to your Outlook.com address, and no alternate sign-in method is available, you can also contact Microsoft Support for additional account-access guidance.

If the verification code email arrives after the browser session expires, the supported options are:

    1. Check Junk/Spam and search for messages from @accountprotection.microsoft.com.
    2. Mark @accountprotection.microsoft.com as a trusted sender.
    3. Avoid making repeated code requests. Excessive requests can trigger a temporary block and delay or stop code delivery.
    4. If the account is being blocked due to unusual activity or heavy compromised traffic from the region, delivery can be delayed and usually resolves after some time.
    5. If another verification method is already on the account, use Try another method instead of email.
    6. If the sign-in page shows Try another verification method, switch methods if possible, try a different network such as Wi‑Fi vs cellular, and then wait before trying again. Microsoft states that waiting 24 hours may help, and if needed waiting longer, up to 1 week, can allow a temporary block to clear.
    7. Use the Microsoft Sign-in helper to identify the sign-in issue and available support options: Sign-in helper
    8. If access to the listed security info is no longer available, select I don't have any of these during sign-in and follow the prompts to replace the security info.

Microsoft support agents are not allowed to send verification codes or change account details for account access issues.
