I am not a spammer. I was just informed that a group text I wanted to send to my friends was blocked to protect people from spammers.

please remove the block on my account immediately. You’re welcome to review the last twenty years or more of my account to help you address your spamming concerns.

Did the email you got back start with something like "The daily message limit helps us free the world from spammers ...", or "Your message couldn't be delivered because we're trying to protect our users from spam ..."

If so, this is an auto generated message because the mail monitors think you have sent emails to too many people in a short period of time. Mother Microsoft does not think you are a Spammer, she just thinks you are doing something that Spammers often do.

please remove the block on my account immediately

    This is an automated process.

Does the Account Sign In Helper say "No problems found" for your account?

    • In a Private/Incognito browser session, open: https://aka.ms/sign-in-helper
    • Scroll down to "Choose how you normally sign in, then enter your details"
    • Click "With an email address"
    • Enter your email address and click [OK]

If so, then all you can do it follow these guidelines to increase your Reputation so you are back to the normal Daily Sending Limits.

    Hi @carolyn marcotte
I understand how frustrating this must be, especially since the message was intended for your friends.

The warning may indicate that the group message was blocked, rather than your entire Outlook.com account. To check this, please create a new email with only a short line of plain text and send it to one trusted recipient. Do not include links, images, attachments, or your usual signature in the test message.

If the test email is sent successfully, recreate the original message and send it to fewer recipients at a time. Outlook’s filtering system may occasionally stop legitimate messages when their content or sending pattern resembles bulk email.

If the test email is also blocked, please share the exact warning or delivery error shown, while removing email addresses and other personal information. This will help us better identify whether the restriction applies to a specific message or to outgoing mail from the account.

A direct account unblock cannot be performed here.

For an Outlook.com account that was temporarily blocked because of unusual activity or spam protection, use the Sign-in Helper to start the unblock process: Sign-in Helper

If the unblock does not work with the security code or password change flow, use the Microsoft account sign-in recovery guidance here: When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account

If the block was triggered by sending to many recipients at once, Outlook.com can temporarily restrict sending. Accepted guidance in similar cases is to wait 24 hours before trying again, then send a simple test message first and avoid sending large group messages in one batch.

If the issue is specifically that Outlook.com says the message was blocked due to spam protection, another accepted recommendation is to verify account security information is up to date and check for unusual sign-in activity.
