Azure for Students - Unable to confirm University ID - New Mansoura University, Egypt

I am a full-time student at New Mansoura University in Egypt.

I am trying to activate Azure for Students using my official university account, but the academic verification process fails with the message:

“Unable to confirm your University ID.”

I can successfully sign in to Azure and Microsoft 365 using my university account. However, the Azure Education Hub also shows:

“We couldn't verify you are a student.”

New Mansoura University does not appear in the school-name lookup during the verification process. My university uses the academic domain nmu.edu.eg.

I have already tried:

  • Using my official university email
  • Selecting Egypt as the country
  • Using an InPrivate browser window
  • Repeating the academic verification process

I would like to know whether New Mansoura University / nmu.edu.eg is currently recognized for Azure for Students, and whether there is a way to complete the verification through manual or private review.

Please let me know what additional proof of enrollment is required and where I can submit it privately.

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A

    Hello @Ahmed Al-Sunbati

Thank you for providing the details.

Based on your description, the issue does not appear to be related to your Microsoft 365 or Azure sign-in. The key indicator is that Azure for Students is unable to verify your institution and New Mansoura University (nmu.edu.eg) does not appear in the school lookup during the academic verification process.

In most cases, this means the institution or domain is not currently recognized by the academic verification provider used by Azure for Students. Since you've already verified that:

    • You are using your official university email account.
    • Microsoft 365 sign-in works successfully.
    • The issue persists in an InPrivate browser session.
