A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text.
Hi Gary Griggs,
Since the common save-location troubleshooting has already been suggested, it may be worth checking whether PowerPoint can save while running with add-ins temporarily disabled:
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
powerpnt /safeand press Enter. - Create a new blank presentation and try saving it locally.
If saving works in Safe Mode, an Office add-in may be interfering with the save process. You can then disable add-ins from File > Options > Add-ins and test again one at a time.
If the issue persists, please let me know:
- Whether the error occurs with every new presentation or only specific files.
- The exact wording of the Copy/Save error message.
- Whether you're using the desktop app or PowerPoint through a Microsoft 365 subscription.
Those details can help narrow down the cause and identify the most appropriate next steps. Feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
