An integrated threat protection solution designed to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats across Microsoft 365 services.
For an existing Microsoft 365 subscription, the billing country/currency cannot be changed in place. Microsoft 365 subscriptions are country/region-specific.
What to do:
- Turn off recurring billing or cancel the current subscription.
- Wait until the current subscription is fully expired, if it is still active.
- Update the Microsoft account country/region in the account profile:
- Go to the Your info page of the Microsoft account dashboard.
- Select Edit profile info.
- Select the new Country or region.
- Add or update the payment method with the UK billing details.
- Purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription in the UK region.
Important details:
- If a Microsoft 365 subscription was purchased for another region, a new-region subscription cannot be purchased until the existing one is gone.
- Changing the billing address applies only to new purchases. Existing active subscriptions continue using the previous region/currency.
- If the account region was changed within the last three months, that can also block another region change.
- If the account is suspended, or age/minor rules differ between regions, the country/region change can also fail.
If the current subscription is already close to renewal, the fastest path is usually to cancel it, update the account to UK, then buy a new UK subscription after the old one ends.
