How can I keep / export the history that I see in my MacOS Copilot client (Version 25.7.440902001) and the iOS legacy Copilot client. I seem to have a separate history in the Copilot with the softer logo edges (this one also connects to CarPlay).

    Hi Christopher,

Good day. The Copilot history can be confusing because there are different Copilot app versions, and they may not show the same conversations.

If you want to keep the conversations currently visible in your Mac or iOS Copilot, I’d recommend saving or copying anything important before changing or uninstalling either app.

For the history they want to keep/export, there is an actual export option:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard with the same Microsoft account used in Copilot.
    2. Go to Privacy > Empower your productivity > Copilot.
    3. Choose Export all activity history.
    4. Microsoft downloads the history as a CSV file.

Also, don't uninstall the older iOS app or clear its history yet if there are conversations you can't see elsewhere.

    Regards,
    Jhun

For the history shown in the macOS Copilot client and Copilot mobile app, individual conversations can be accessed from the left-side history or app menu, but the supported export option is for all activity history, not selected chats only.

    For a Microsoft account:

    1. Sign in to the privacy dashboard at https://account.microsoft.com/privacy.
    2. Go to Privacy > Empower your productivity > Copilot > Your Copilot app activity history.
    3. For Copilot apps such as copilot.microsoft.com, select Copilot apps.
    4. Select Export all activity history.
    5. A CSV file is downloaded to the device.

For Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps or Chat in the Microsoft Copilot app, the privacy dashboard also provides:

    • Export all Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps activity history
    • Export all Copilot Chat activity history

On macOS and iOS, conversation history can be viewed in-app:

    • macOS Copilot app: history appears on the left side; if hidden, open the sidebar from the upper-left icon.
    • Copilot mobile app: open the menu to see conversation history.

If the goal is to keep specific chats, the supported in-app option is to share a conversation link:

    • Share the full conversation from the share icon at the top right of the chat page.
    • Share a single response from the share icon below that response.

Relevant limits from the documented behavior:

    • Signed-in Copilot retains the last 18 months of interactions in conversation history.
    • The shared link is a snapshot from the time the link was created; later messages are not added to that shared copy.
    • If signed in with an Apple ID in the Copilot app, the documented history control is Account > Privacy > Clear my history. The provided documentation does not include an export path for Apple ID-based history.

The separate history seen in another Copilot app experience is consistent with Microsoft documenting different history areas, including:

    • Copilot apps
    • Copilot Chat activity history
    • Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps activity history
