1. On a clean PC, run a full malware scan before changing anything:
   • Open Windows Security
   • Go to Virus and threat protection
   • Select Scan options > Full scan > Scan now
2. Start Microsoft’s hacked account recovery flow:
   • Use the sign-in helper tool: Start
   • If the account is recognized, reset the password and create a strong new password.
3. If the old email address is no longer recognized, try any other alias or phone number that was on the account. Microsoft notes that if one email is not recognized, another alias or phone number on the account may still work.
4. If access is restored, immediately check account settings for changes:
   • connected accounts
   • forwarding
   • automatic replies
5. If the username is no longer found, use the account recovery path:
   • Recover your account
   • Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used to sign in
   • Choose where to receive the security code
   • Enter the code and set a new password
6. If self-service does not work, contact Microsoft Support through the official support flow. Support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or directly change account details, but they can route to the correct support option.

Do not post the full hacked email address or other account details publicly.
