Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Kiri Staples,
I can see how inconvenient this is, especially when messages continue to appear as unread on your iPhone after you have already handled them on the PC.
Since both devices are still receiving new messages, the issue appears to affect the synchronization of actions such as marking messages as read or deleting them, rather than incoming mail itself.
First, please sign in to Gmail on the web and perform a quick test:
- In New Outlook on the PC, mark one recent message as read or delete it.
- Refresh Gmail in the browser and check whether the same change appears there.
- Then check the Mail app on the iPhone.
If the change does not appear in Gmail on the web, the issue is likely between New Outlook and the Gmail account. In that case, please try the following:
- Update New Outlook through Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates.
- In Windows, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook for Windows > Advanced options.
- Select Repair first. If the issue continues, select Reset.
- Add the Gmail account again by choosing Google and complete the Sign in with Google process, including all requested permissions.
Before resetting or removing the account, please make sure that any important messages or drafts are visible in Gmail on the web. Could you also confirm whether this happens with both Gmail accounts and whether changes made directly in Gmail on the web synchronize correctly to the iPhone?
