Hi, If the replacement drive is intended to replace a failed disk in an existing RAID array, clear the Foreign Configuration rather than importing it. Importing a foreign configuration is only appropriate when recovering an existing RAID set after moving disks or replacing a controller.
In the RAID controller BIOS or management utility, select the drive showing Foreign, choose Clear Foreign Configuration, and then verify the drive transitions to Ready. The rebuild should start automatically if the array is degraded and the replacement drive meets the RAID requirements.
If the rebuild does not start, check that the replacement drive has equal or greater capacity than the failed disk and review the controller logs for any drive compatibility or rebuild errors.
I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!
