    Dear Annabelle Rodriguez,

I understand that you're seeing an admin approval message. For better assist, kindly let me know some information:

    1. Could you please take a screenshot of the exact message you're seeing and share it with me?
    2. Also, are you trying to use a third-party app in Microsoft Teams that requires administrator approval?
    3. Additionally, could you confirm whether your friend attends the same school as you or a different school?

If you are unable to initiate or participate in chats on Microsoft Teams for Education, try updating the app. You can also try these chat troubleshooting tips to get your conversations up and running again.

If the solutions above don't work, your IT administrator may have enabled chat safety settings for your classroom. Please reach out to your IT Administrator if you have questions about your assigned role or to find out if chat has been turned off for your institution. If chat has been turned off, you can still communicate with educators and students in channel conversations.
