Public folder contacts and contact groups missing/unsearchable in New Outlook

In classic Outlook, our organization relies on shared contacts stored in Public Folders, including contact groups (distribution lists) that staff use daily to address email. Since moving to New Outlook, this functionality has been lost or degraded:

Public folder contacts can't be browsed or accessed the way they were in classic Outlook.

Contact groups from the public folders aren't fully coming over. Some are missing or incomplete, so users can't reliably email the intended recipients.

These contacts and groups are no longer searchable or available through autocomplete when composing a message. Users previously typed a name or group and had it resolve immediately.

This is a significant regression for our users, who depend on a single, centrally maintained set of shared contacts. It's currently a blocker to moving everyone off classic Outlook.

Please add full Public Folder contact support to New Outlook, including contact groups, and make these contacts searchable and available in recipient autocomplete, matching classic Outlook's behavior. Alternatively, please provide a supported migration path that preserves these contacts and groups.

    Hello Joe Nucifora,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Based on your description, this issue involves Public Folders, shared contacts, and contact groups used within an organizational Microsoft 365/Exchange environment. Microsoft Q&A's consumer Outlook.com forum supports personal Microsoft accounts and is not able to provide support for organizational or business-managed Exchange environments.

Thank you for sharing your experience and the impact this functionality has on your organization's workflow.
