Want to perform transcribe only (without video)

In my team session I want to perform transcription only without video recording but it does not give me the option to do so. Is there a way to make this happen with the personal premium subscription service I have ?

    With a personal premium subscription, transcription-only is not available in Teams personal/free. The transcript option is only available with a Teams Business account.

    If the goal is to follow spoken content without creating a recording, live captions can still be used during the meeting:

    1. In the meeting controls, select More.
    2. Go to Language and speech.
    3. Select Turn on live captions.

    If using a business account instead, Teams supports using Copilot without recording or transcribing, and live transcription does not start automatically when Copilot is turned on. Also, meeting organizers with Teams Premium or a Copilot license can manage who can record and transcribe.

    Transcription option is not available when signing in to Teams account with Microsoft Personal, Family or Premium subscription. This feature requires Microsoft Business account.

    Hello Kevin Johnson,

    If you need a transcript you can keep after the meeting, live captions won’t do that because they aren’t saved.

    Teams can start transcription without recording video in meetings where that feature is available. Could you confirm whether you organized this meeting using a personal Microsoft account or a work or school account, and the exact name of your Premium subscription? That will help us check why Start transcription isn’t offered in your session.
