There was the same question asked in 2024 and your answer is that ii is impossible but that you would take up with product development. IS there any progress on this and what is the answer today.

Thank you for letting me know,

Chris De Neubourg

Hi Chris De Neubourg

As of today, Outlook.com and Outlook on the web still do not provide a built-in option to automatically create a contact for every sender or recipient of email. You can enable Trust email from my contacts so existing contacts are treated as safe senders, but contacts themselves must generally be created manually or through third-party automation solutions.

If this functionality is important to you, I recommend submitting feedback through Outlook Feedback (Help > Feedback) so it can be considered by the product team.

For Outlook on the web and Outlook.com, contacts are treated as safe senders by default only when Trust email from my contacts is enabled.

To have contacts automatically treated as safe:

    1. Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email.
    2. Under Security options, make sure Trust email from my contacts is selected.

    To manually add a sender:

    1. Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email.
    2. Under Senders, open Safe senders and domains.
    3. Select + Add safe sender.
    4. Enter the email address.
    5. Select OK, then Save.

For Outlook for Mac, adding a sender to Contacts causes future messages from that sender to not be classified as junk:

    1. Open the message.
    2. Select the sender, then Show more > Add to Contacts.
    3. Select Save.

One important limitation remains: when sending a message to someone who is not already an Outlook contact, that recipient is not automatically added to the Safe Senders List. If that person replies, the reply can still be moved to Junk unless the sender is already in Contacts or is added manually to Safe Senders.
