Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
For a personal Microsoft account such as Outlook.com, the available direct support option is usually live chat. A callback or phone option may also appear depending on product, subscription, and region.
Use this path:
- Go to Contact - Microsoft Support.
- Sign in to the Microsoft account that needs help.
- In the search box, type a short description such as Chat with an agent or Account Recovery.
- Select Get Help.
- Scroll down and select Contact Support.
- When prompted, choose:
- Other Products or the relevant Microsoft 365/Office product
- Manage account security or the matching category for the issue
- Select Chat with a support agent in your web browser if shown.
- If available, choose the phone/callback option and submit a phone number for an agent to call.
If chat is unavailable, try again during business hours. Some support options only appear at certain times, and availability can vary by region.
For work or school accounts, support is typically handled through the organization’s IT helpdesk or admin.

- I have paid for a Microsoft 365 subscription... how do I contact a human by phone? - Microsoft Q&A I've had a subscription to Microsoft 365 support for several years now........ I was so pleased that once upon a time, it only took moments to contact support for help whenever I needed it. I didn't mind paying the annual fee, and I appreciated the almost instant help. And now..... I can't even ring them.... I'm paying $175 AUD PA...... the phone numbers given online for support are answered by a Bot and they just tell you to seek help online. I have tried for a week to find help for my issue. Anyone have a phone number that goes straight through to a person? Regards... Pauline
