A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
For repeated OneNote sign-in prompts while syncing between a Windows laptop and iPad, use this sequence:
- Check whether the notebook opens in OneNote for the web.
- In OneNote on the laptop, go to File.
- On the Info tab, right-click the notebook URL under the notebook name, then select Copy.
- Paste it into a browser and open it.
- If it opens, select Open In OneNote and sign in with the correct account if prompted.
- On the Windows laptop, sign out of all accounts associated with OneNote, then sign in again.
- If the notebook does not sync automatically after signing back in, right-click the notebook name and sync it manually.
- If Windows keeps asking to sign in repeatedly, clear stored Office credentials.
- Close OneNote and any open browser windows.
- Open Start > Settings.
- Search for Credential Manager and open it.
- Select Windows Credentials.
- Remove entries that begin with MicrosoftAccount and MicrosoftOffice.
- Restart the device, open OneNote, and sign in again.
- On the iPad, sign out of all accounts associated with OneNote and sign in again.
- If the iPad still loops on sign-in, clear OneNote sign-in credentials.
- Go to iOS Settings > OneNote > Reset OneNote > Delete Sign-In Credentials and turn it on.
- Make sure OneNote is fully closed.
- Reopen OneNote and sign in again.
- Update other Office apps on the iPad if installed, because Office apps share the same credentials and a problem in one app can affect OneNote sign-in.
Important: signing out can cause loss of unsynced changes. Back up any notes that have not fully synced before doing sign-out or credential reset steps.
The correlation ID is not the actual error code. It is a unique request identifier that can help an admin trace what happened, but it does not identify the problem by itself.
