    Hi Gertrude

Since the issue also occurs when turning off the monitor, this does not appear to be limited to Bluetooth. It sounds more like Windows is triggering a device reconfiguration event (audio/display hardware being disconnected) that Roblox is not handling correctly after the recent update.

Could you check whether the problem also occurs in other games, or only in Roblox? If it is Roblox-only, the issue may need to be reported to Roblox. If multiple applications freeze or crash when devices are disconnected, please check Reliability Monitor (perfmon /rel) and Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application for crash entries around the time the game stops responding.

If the behavior started immediately after a specific Windows update, you could also test whether uninstalling that update temporarily resolves the issue while waiting for a fix.

This can be a quick workaround issue now, but the permanent fix is likely a Windows update or updated device driver.

    What is happening:

    • A recent Windows update can change Bluetooth, audio, or display handling.
    • If a Bluetooth headset, mic, or monitor disconnects while Roblox is running, Windows may re-enumerate the audio or display device.
    • If the Bluetooth or related driver stack is unstable after the update, the app can freeze, stop responding, or crash.

What the Windows update has to do with it:

    • Windows updates can install changes to the Bluetooth stack and related drivers.
    • Microsoft documents that Bluetooth issues after updates can be caused by driver incompatibility, temporary system glitches, or update-related driver changes.
    • If Bluetooth worked before a recent driver or Windows update, rolling back the Bluetooth driver can help.

    Recommended steps:

    1. Roll back the Bluetooth driver if the problem started right after the update.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter > Properties.
      • Open the Driver tab.
      • Select Roll Back Driver if available.
      • Follow the prompts.
    2. Update the Bluetooth driver again from Device Manager.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter > Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      • Restart the PC if prompted.
    3. Install the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC manufacturer.
      • If Device Manager does not help, install the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC manufacturer support site for the exact model.
      • Restart after installation.
    4. Check Windows Update.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      • Select Check for updates and install available updates.
    5. Restart the PC fully using Shut down, not Restart.
      • Hold Shift.
      • Select Start > Power > Shut down.
      • Wait 1 minute, then power the PC back on.
      • This is specifically recommended when Bluetooth functionality is unstable.
    6. Turn off Bluetooth power saving.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth device.
      • Open Power Management.
      • Clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    7. Restart the Bluetooth service.
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type services.msc and select OK.
      • Find Bluetooth Support Service.
      • Right-click it and select Restart.
    8. If the crash is specifically when a Bluetooth audio device disconnects, use a workaround.
      • Set a wired or fixed device, such as speakers, as the default playback device.
      • If available, enable Stereo Mix in Sound Settings > More sound settings > Recording and keep it enabled.
      • This can keep an audio endpoint available when the Bluetooth headset disconnects.

    Quick fix vs permanent fix:

    • Quick fix: use a non-Bluetooth default audio device, avoid disconnecting the active headset while gaming, and restart the Bluetooth service.
    • More permanent fix: roll back or replace the Bluetooth driver, then install newer Windows updates that address the regression.

Since drivers were already updated, the most relevant next step is rolling back the Bluetooth driver and then testing again. If the issue also happens when turning off the monitor, that points to a broader device handoff problem introduced after the update rather than a Roblox-only problem.
