For Windows 10, try these steps in order:
- Update the driver from Device Manager:
- Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter.
- Select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the prompts.
- Restart the PC.
- Check Windows Update:
- Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install any available updates, then restart.
- If Windows says the best driver is already installed or the download fails, install the latest driver from the PC manufacturer:
- Go to the PC manufacturer’s support website.
- Search by the device model number.
- Download and install the latest Bluetooth driver for Windows 10.
- Restart the PC after installation.
- If the problem started after a recent driver or Windows update, roll back the driver:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter > Properties.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Select Roll Back Driver if available.
- If updating still fails, reinstall the Bluetooth driver:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Restart the PC.
- Windows will automatically reinstall the Bluetooth driver after restart.
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter:
- Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Under Find and fix other problems, select Bluetooth.
- Select Run the troubleshooter and follow the instructions.
If Bluetooth disappeared completely, also make sure Airplane mode is turned off.
