SSD Is Corrupted, What Should I Upgrade It To?

Hey guys, recently I found out from help here that my SSD has finally given up and can not show info through windows RE. Since this is a sign of an upgrade for the SSD, are there any recommendations or heads up before doing so? I already got the data down (I don't need it). I mainly need it both for gaming and possibly future college stuff. If possible, recommend some laptops to check.

Hello,

What tests or troubleshooting steps did you perform to confirm that the SSD has failed?

  1. Have you tried performing a clean installation of Windows 11 using bootable USB installation media to check whether the device works properly?

Windows 11 Clean Installation Process

If you suspect an SSD problem, first test whether data can be written to the drive by installing Windows on it. If the installation repeatedly fails or displays an SSD related error during system boot, run the manufacturer's pre-boot hardware diagnostics on the drive. If the diagnostic test reports an error, contact the PC manufacturer or visit their support website to arrange an SSD replacement.

If the device is still under warranty, the replacement may be covered at no cost. Otherwise, replace the SSD only after confirming that the other system components, such as the processor, RAM, and GPU, are working properly. This will be the cheapest option you can go for.

To run pre-boot hardware diagnostics, refer to the manual or the manufacturer's website for instructions for your specific device.

If you are buying a PC specifically for gaming, choose the right hardware to run high-FPS games smoothly. You can visit the link below and select the options that best suit your needs.

You can use the recommendations provided by Windows as a reference when choosing your laptop.

Is there any way for me to check without opening any apps? I can only open the Windows RE unfortunately. I currently have an Acer Aspire Vero 14, blue version.

We've run through all boot system checks we could. We always ran into a I/O problem and even access denied. The laptop can't also read the SSD when running a check with the notepad so unfortunately, yes, it is an SSD problem. I thank you for the check on the warranty though, I'll talk with my dad about it to see what we can do. As for the RAM, processor, and the GPU looks pretty well to me, unless there are ways to check if it is running properly
