I've been playing this game signed into my xbox account every day for months. Today, on the day of the spider adventure, it decides that I can't log in. It gives me an error code of 0x8004a97e. I've been looking forward to the spider adventure event for weeks, it sounds sad but looking forward to this event has been one of the only things that has kept me going recently. I'm super bummed that it won't let me play the event in my account. I am a premium member and the ads are super frustrating. Spider adventures happen so rarely and it's my favorite game mode. I note that whilst its happening for me in multiple games, some PC Game Pass games are working. For example, it fails for Microsoft Solitaire Collection and Microsoft Mahjong but for same Vampire Survivors where it doesn't need to sign in to your account, it still plays fine. For me the failure is occurring when Windows tries to enumerate the accounts available to Xbox authentication, and the AAD/Web Account Manager broker returns 0x80070005 Access is denied .

Is there ANY from Microsoft that is ACTUALLY going to answer??? Your AI response is, AS USUAL........ USELESS!!! Can sign in on my desktop, but on my surface AND ROG Ally X are giving me the same garbage error (0x8004a97e) An error, for the record, that your "AI" has no clue about!!!! Hi @Bella Puente I have the exact same problem, but only on my Windows 10 PC. Logging into the Microsoft Solitaire Collection works perfectly fine on my Windows 11 machine. I've experienced this occasionally in the past, but it almost always resolved itself eventually, so I still don't know exactly what the cause is.

I have exactly the same problem, on my laptop I cant play and games that start directly through Xbox live (fishing planet, MS Solitaire etc., but Xbox games that start through steam are ok. On my desktop PC everything runs fine. Both are running Windows 11 both are signed into the correct Xbox and MS store accounts. The MS help bot keeps going round in circles so I am at a loss at the moment. PLEASE HELP MICROSOFT.

This is what worked for me just now,

Clear stored Xbox sign-in credentials.

Open Credential Manager.

Select Windows Credentials.

Under Generic Credentials, remove entries that start with or contain Xbl.

Restart the PC and try signing in again.

Same thing was happening to me for 2 days straight. Just now, I logged into Solitaire and my account reconnected to the app. Don't know what changed, but I hope you are also able to log back in now.

I did what Steve F. suggested, and it seems to be working for me now! My profile picture was missing the first time I logged in, but after logging in a second time, it showed up and I was able to play. Thanks!

I use Cuphead on PC to farm Rewards points for the last 6 years.

Yesterday it simply stopped working because of this Xbox Live issue.... did everything that AIs and humans can possibly imagine.

NOTHING fixes it.

I have the exact same problem, but only on my Windows 10 PC.

Logging into the Microsoft Solitaire Collection works perfectly fine on my Windows 11 machine.

I've experienced this occasionally in the past, but it almost always resolved itself eventually, so I still don't know exactly what the cause is.

Same, Solitaire running fine on Windows 10. The issue is with a laptop running on Windows 11 ever since yesterday, even when properly logged into XBOX won't let me log in to play Solitaire, I can only play as a guest. Have uninstalled both XBOX and Solitaire, followed all the AI troubleshooting tips to absolutely no avail and yet no answer. Enraging!
