Additional team and channel-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
There is no supported way today to store Whiteboards in a Teams folder or in SharePoint. Whiteboards are created in the OneDrive folder of the person who starts the whiteboard, and SharePoint isn’t yet supported.
What is supported today in Teams channels is attaching a Whiteboard as a tab:
- In Teams, open the channel.
- Select + at the top.
- Search for Whiteboard.
- Select Save.
That attaches the whiteboard to the channel for collaboration, but it does not change the storage location to the Team’s folder. Also, any board attached to a team or channel is editable by everyone who has access to that team or channel.
On the roadmap question: there is no information provided on how many votes are needed, whether more votes will trigger implementation, or when Microsoft plans to add SharePoint/Teams-folder storage. The available documentation only states the current behavior and that SharePoint isn’t yet supported.
