Hello Zuolin LU,
I understand why this message is confusing when you are using a personal Microsoft account.
The “contact your administrator” wording is generic and does not necessarily mean that a separate administrator exists for your Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.
This can happen if PowerPoint or Windows is also connected to a work or school account whose policy restricts Office add-ins. Please check the following:
- In PowerPoint, select File > Account and check all accounts listed under User Information and Connected Services. Sign out of any work or school account that you no longer use, then restart PowerPoint.
- In Windows, open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school. If an old organization account is connected, select it and choose Disconnect, but only if the device is personally owned and the account is no longer required.
- Confirm that Windows has the correct date, time, and time zone, as incorrect settings can prevent Office from validating add-ins.
- In PowerPoint, select File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
- Select Home > Add-ins > More Add-ins > My Add-ins, then refresh the list. If possible, remove and reinstall one add-in as a test.
Please also try the same add-in in PowerPoint for the web using your personal account. This will help determine whether the problem is limited to the Windows desktop installation.
If the issue remains, please reply with:
- The exact wording of the permission error or a screenshot with personal information hidden
- Your PowerPoint version and build from File > Account > About PowerPoint
- Whether a work or school account appears in PowerPoint or under Access work or school
- Whether the add-ins work in PowerPoint for the web
I hope this helps identify why PowerPoint is treating the account as managed.
Feel free reply back to this post and update me on this issue, I'll be happy to help.
