Hi.

My laptop lately has updates problems. With errors.

So I need a way to fix it as soon as possible.

There are two issues. 1) Component store corruption and 2) boot files couldn't be serviced due to a problem with the EFI partition.

The rollback mainly occurred because of the issue #2.

1] Please open Disk Management and maximize it. Adjust the column widths in the top pane to make all the entries visible. Post a screenshot.

2] Launch msinfo32.exe, and click System Summary. Resize the columns in the right pane to make the entries visible, and post a screenshot.

3] Open the admin Command Prompt and run:

Bcdedit bcdedit /export c:\bcd.bak diskpart list disk select disk 0 list part list vol exit reagentc /info

Post the output.

Each command needs to be run separately. You seem to have copied everything and pasted into Command window. That's now how it works.

Boot from the USB setup disk and access Windows RE.

In Windows RE, click Troubleshoot, Advanced Options, Command Prompt.

In Command Prompt, run:

diskpart select disk 0 list part select part 1 assign letter=Y list vol Exit

Take a photo of the output screen and upload the image(s) here.

Don't quit WinRE yet. Some more commands need to be run.

Post the output.

Note:

When you run the format command, you'll be prompted to type the current volume label. Type the current volume label (or press Enter if there is no current volume label) and press Enter. When prompted for the new volume label, type EFI and press Enter.

The logs are available in the following folder. Copy the following folder to the desktop.

c:\windows\logs\cbs

That message is a generic Windows Update failure. The first step is to find the actual error code for the failed update, then use that code to target the fix.

Check the failed update error code.
- On Windows 11: Start > Settings > Windows Update > Update history.
- Look for the update that failed and note the error code.
Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Windows Update and select Run.
- Complete the on-screen steps.
Restart the Windows Update service and clear the update cache.
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Windows Update, right-click it, and select Stop.
- Open C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.
- Delete the files and folders inside it.
- Go back to Services, right-click Windows Update, and select Start.
Restart the laptop and try Windows Update again.
If antivirus or firewall software is installed, temporarily disable it, then retry the update.
- Risk: this reduces protection while disabled, so re-enable it immediately after the test.
If using a VPN, disconnect it and try again.
If the device is low on storage, free up space and retry.
- Some update failures are caused by insufficient disk space.

If the same message appears again, use the error code from Update history to narrow it down. Common examples from Windows Update guidance include:

0x80070005: insufficient permissions or access denied
