Sole Global Administrator locked out of Azure tenant after replacing phone – MFA / Tenant Recovery required
I am the sole Global Administrator of my Microsoft Entra / Azure tenant.
I still have full access to my Microsoft personal account and I know my password. The password is NOT the problem.
After replacing my mobile phone, I lost the Microsoft Authenticator registration associated with my Azure / Entra tenant.
When I sign in to Azure, Microsoft asks me either to approve a request in Microsoft Authenticator or enter a verification code from Microsoft Authenticator. Neither method works because they refer to the previous Authenticator registration.
There is no other Global Administrator in the tenant who can reset my authentication methods.
I have already tried the normal account recovery and Microsoft telephone support, but the automated support system redirects me to password recovery. Password recovery does not solve this issue because I already have access to my Microsoft account.
This is a Microsoft Entra tenant lockout involving the sole Global Administrator.
I need Microsoft Support to create/escalate a case to the Data Protection / Tenant Recovery team so that my MFA registration can be reset and I can re-register Microsoft Authenticator.
I can privately provide proof of identity, Azure subscription/billing information, tenant information, payment information and any other information required to verify ownership.
Please contact me privately if tenant or account information is required.
