When I try to log in, it says the account doesn't exist, but when I try to create one, it says it already exists—what can I do? I think it's been hacked, because I gave my email to someone and accidentally shared the authentication code as well...

    Hi @Apollo

I’m truly sorry you’re going through this. I understand how distressing it can be to lose access to an important account, especially after realizing that the authentication code may have been used to change the sign-in details.

Please try submitting the Microsoft Account Recovery Form (ACSR). I understand that the form can feel lengthy and that some questions may be difficult to remember, but this is normal because the information is used to verify account ownership. Complete it from a familiar device and network if possible, and provide as many accurate details as you can, such as previous passwords, recent email subject lines, frequent contacts, and any Microsoft services or purchases connected to the account: https://account.live.com/acsr

Help with the Microsoft account recovery form

If the original email address is not recognized or you cannot proceed with the form, please contact Microsoft Support using another Microsoft account that you can access: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    • Select Show expanded list of products.
    • Choose Outlook > Get Home support.
    • Search for Account Recovery, then select Get Help > Contact Support.
    • Sign in with another Microsoft account if you cannot access the affected account.
    • Ask our Support Assistant > Type "Talk to live chat agent" > Contact Support
    • Select Other Products > Manage Account Security > Chat with a support agent via web browser.

Meanwhile, please change the passwords for any other accounts that use the same password, enable two-step verification, and do not share any further verification codes.

    Thank you for your understanding.
