Multiple problems since september update

History is no longer syncing

computer is not recognized on banking websites

apps are acting differently/not working

restore points have disappeared

need help!!!

    Repairing Windows by reinstalling the same version may help. It repairs system files and components while preserving your apps, files, and settings, but I still recommend backing up important data just in case. You can perform the repair using the Microsoft guide below:

    File History not working after the September update is a widely reported problem, Microsoft have indicated they are aware of this problem and they are working to provide a fix for that as soon as possible.

    For the other problems you are experiencing, the best first option would be to open the Settings App, go to Windows Updates - Update History, scroll to the bottom of that window and select 'Uninstall Updates' and check if you can uninstall the update that caused the problems from there.

    If that is not possible, in the Settings App, go to System - Recovery.

    Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' section, then wait for that process to complete, this process does not affect your files, settings or installed apps.
