Outlook for Mac navigation issues

I am working with Outlook on Mac and we have been informed that the legacy mode will not be possible anymore.

The new view is giving me an odd feeling of being back to windows but what I don't understand is why we have this navigation switch bar on the left. It is impossible to hide it nor move it! I need to focus and don't need to be reminded that the calendar exists or else....Please do add at least the possibility to move it on the screen or better hide it.

Plus sorry but why is the toolbar so small ? What was helping on the legacy was the possibility to make it bigger if needed. Honestly I have a feeling of less professional surrounding with this new look and feel ....please do get it fixed for professional use and don't make me use mail instead....THANKS from a longterm user who hopes that you understand that we are not all 12 years old ;-)

The left-side navigation bar in Outlook for Mac is part of the current Outlook for Mac experience. For Outlook for Mac 16.71.0 and later, the main functions such as email, calendar, and people are displayed vertically to the left of the folder pane, and this experience is automatically turned on for all users. The provided documentation does not include a way to hide or move that bar.

For the toolbar and layout controls, the available customization documented for Legacy Outlook for Mac includes showing or hiding the ribbon and sidebar, moving or hiding the reading pane, and changing sort order. For Outlook for Mac 2011, there is also a documented option to change text size for the item list under Outlook > Preferences > Fonts. The provided documentation does not show an option in the current Outlook for Mac to enlarge the toolbar.

Since the requested hide/move behavior and toolbar resizing are not documented as available options, the supported path is to submit product feedback in Outlook for Mac:

Help > Give Feedback to suggest features.
Help > Contact Support to report issues or provide feedback.

Legacy Outlook for Mac is being retired. Support for legacy Outlook for Mac will end in October 2026, and Outlook for Mac documentation recommends switching to the current Outlook for Mac experience.
