If this is Word on macOS, the current documented fix for Error 0x0 / License not found is to update Office fully and make sure macOS is version 12 or later.
- Confirm macOS is 12 or higher.
- Close all Office apps.
- Open Finder > Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate.
- If Microsoft AutoUpdate is not visible there, check:
/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/
- Install all available Office updates:
- Select Update All, or update Word and the other Office apps individually.
- After updates finish, open Word again and test activation.
If Office was installed from the App Store instead of microsoft.com:
- Close all Office apps.
- Open the App Store.
- Select Updates.
- Update Microsoft Word or choose Update All.
- Reopen Word and test.
Since activation and payment already appear complete, also verify the subscription is active under the same Microsoft account used in Word:
- Go to Services & subscriptions and confirm the Microsoft 365 subscription is present.
- If payment recently had an issue, check Payment options and correct any payment error.
If Word still shows Unlicensed Product or activation errors after updating, the supported next checks are:
- Sign in to Office with the account that was used to buy Office or Microsoft 365.
- Check whether multiple copies of Office are installed, because multiple installs can cause activation conflicts.
- Use the guided support for Office activation troubleshooting.
