Controlling settings, permissions, and membership within Teams and channels
Hi Ms,
I hope you’ve been well.
You can create a poll directly in a Microsoft Teams channel by following these steps:
- Open Microsoft Teams and go to the team and channel where you want to post the poll.
- Select Post in channel or click Reply in thread.
- Select Actions and apps next to the composition box and choose Polls.
-
- If Polls is not listed, select Store from the left-hand navigation bar, search for Polls, and then select Add.
-
- Once you have opened Polls, you can:
- Enter your question and add at least two answer options.
- Configure any additional options, such as allowing multiple answers or sharing the aggregated results with respondents.
- Select Preview, review the poll, and then select Send to publish it in the channel.
The Polls app is powered by Microsoft Forms, and the poll results will update as channel members submit their responses.
For additional guidance, you may also refer to:
If you cannot find or add the Polls app, it may be restricted by your organization’s app policies. In that case, you may need to contact your Microsoft 365 administrator and ask them to verify whether Polls is allowed in Teams.
