    Hi Ms,

    I hope you’ve been well.

You can create a poll directly in a Microsoft Teams channel by following these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to the team and channel where you want to post the poll.
    2. Select Post in channel or click Reply in thread
    3. Select Actions and apps next to the composition box and choose Polls.
    4. User's image
    5. If Polls is not listed, select Store from the left-hand navigation bar, search for Polls, and then select Add.
    6. User's image
    7. Once you have opened Polls, you can:
    • Enter your question and add at least two answer options.
    • Configure any additional options, such as allowing multiple answers or sharing the aggregated results with respondents.
    • Select Preview, review the poll, and then select Send to publish it in the channel.

The Polls app is powered by Microsoft Forms, and the poll results will update as channel members submit their responses.

For additional guidance, you may also refer to:

If you cannot find or add the Polls app, it may be restricted by your organization’s app policies. In that case, you may need to contact your Microsoft 365 administrator and ask them to verify whether Polls is allowed in Teams.

I hope this information is helpful. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.

To create a poll in a Teams channel:

    1. Open the channel and go to the Compose box where messages are typed.
    2. Select Actions and apps on the right side of the Compose box.
    3. Select Polls. If it is not listed, select Find more apps or Apps on the left side of Teams and add it.
    4. Enter the poll question.
    5. Add at least two answer choices. More answers can be added with Options.
    6. Optional settings:
      • Turn on Multiple selections to let people choose more than one answer.
      • Select Record names of respondents if names should be captured. Only the poll creator sees those responses.
      • Select Share aggregated results with respondents if results should be visible to participants.
    7. Select Preview to review the poll.
    8. Select Send to post it in the channel.

To respond, people select an option on the poll card and choose Submit Vote.

    If using Teams mobile:

    1. In the channel, tap Menu (...) below the message box.
    2. Select the Poll app.
    3. Enter the question and at least two choices.
    4. Set options such as a due date and who can see results in Settings.
    5. Tap Next, then Send.
