I'm sorry, I'm having trouble responding to requests right now. Let's try this again in a bit. Why is this the only message I am getting from copilot?

    Welcome Melissa Alexander,

The message "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble responding to requests right now. Let's try this again in a bit." can appear when Copilot is temporarily unable to process requests, either due to a temporary service issue or a problem with the current session. citeturn1search18turn1search19

To help narrow this down, could you please let us know:

    • Are you using Copilot on the web browser, Windows app, or mobile app?
    • Are you signed in with a personal Microsoft account?
    • Does the same message appear for every prompt, including simple ones such as "Hello"?

In the meantime, please try these quick checks:

    • Refresh the Copilot page or completely close and reopen the Copilot app.
    • Sign out of Copilot, then sign back in with your Microsoft account.
    • Try Copilot in a different browser or in an InPrivate/Incognito window.
    • Wait a short time and test again, as this message has been associated with temporary Copilot service issues reported by multiple users. citeturn1search17turn1search19
