Hello Microsoft Team,

I am attempting to enroll in Azure for Students, but the academic verification process fails with the message:

"Your email domain is not currently registered with us. You can choose another verification method."

The domain belongs to Universidad Americana (UAM) in Nicaragua: uamv.edu.ni

I would like to request a review of this academic domain and ask whether it can be added to the Azure for Students verification system.

Universidad Americana (UAM) is a recognized higher education institution in Nicaragua, and students using official university email addresses are currently unable to complete the verification process.

Could the Microsoft team please advise on:

• Whether the domain can be reviewed and registered.

• Any alternative verification process available for students from this institution.

• Any documentation that may be required to support the review.

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi Camila,

The error means Microsoft’s Azure for Students verification system does not currently recognize uamv.edu.ni as an eligible academic email domain. The offer requires students to verify their academic status through their institution’s email address, or through Shibboleth where the institution supports it.

    I would try the following:

    1. Use the official @uamv.edu.ni address and retry from an InPrivate/Incognito window.
    2. Check whether the “choose another verification method” option actually appears. Some recent cases show the message without an available alternative.
    3. If the domain is still rejected, contact Microsoft/Azure support and request an academic domain review for uamv.edu.ni. Include the university name, country, exact domain, and proof that the address is issued by the institution.
